College is a wonderful time of learning, growth, and experiences. In considering a Global Program, ask yourself 'why not?' Why not take one summer to visit a new country, learn part of a new language, try new foods, and meet new people? What other time in your life will you have an opportunity to spend your summer overseas?
Your friends, that summer job, your favorite pizza place-they’ll all be there when you get back. By “leaving” things behind to go on a Global Program, you’ll gain much more than you left behind.
“It might be time for you to go. It might be time to change, to shine out. I want to repeat one word for you:
Roll the word around on your tongue for a bit. It is a beautiful word, isn't it? So strong and forceful, the way you have always wanted to be. And you will not be alone. You have never been alone. Don't worry. Everything will still be here when you get back. It is you who will have changed.”-Donald Miller, Through Painted Deserts
"Peter began to say to Him, ‘Look, we have left everything and followed You.’ ‘Truly I tell you,’ said Jesus, ‘no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for My sake and for the gospel will fail to receive a hundredfold in the present age—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and fields, along with persecutions—and to receive eternal life in the age to come. But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.’'"-Mark 10:28-31
